Frances Lansbury Memorial Adult Learner Award - This award is designed to help a female student continue her education. Fran served as the NYS Women's Bowling Club President for nine years and strongly believed in the education of adult women in the working environment. She anonymously sponsored this award for many years and when she passed away, it was decided to name the award in her honor and carry on her legacy of helping young women continue their education. To qualify, the student must be 20 years of age or older as of January 15th and be sponsored by a current member of the NYSW 600 Bowling Club. This application also must be submitted to the committee chair by March 1st to be considered.
2018 Winner: Elizabeth A. Szpara
Elizabeth is a senior at Trocaire College majoring in Health Information Technology and has 3.8 GPA. Her goal is to become a certified medical coder at Roswell in Buffalo. She is currently employed as a pharmacy technician at Rite-Aid and also for Tara Cares which is a support office for 36 nursing homes in the surrounding area.

Lizs employment supervisor Lisa Hessessy said I am confident Liz will succeed on any venture she embarks and will make a positive impact on those around her. She is truly a leader and has the wisdom beyond her years.

As far as her bowling she has always been a sanctioned bowler from a young age with a high average of 215.
